Generosity during an annual fundraiser

Eastern Bay residents have been thanked for their generosity during an annual fundraiser.

At least $16,000 has been raised for the Cancer Society.

It's the 20th year of the Daffodil Day appeal, coordinated by Whakatane National Bank Staff.

Branch Manager Andy Galbraith says all the money collected in the region, stays in the region.

He says it will go to the local branch in Rotorua, which helps cancer patients and their families, from Whakatane and around the Bay of Plenty.
