Council to Begin Stormwater & Wastewater Investigation

Oamaru Residents in the ‘North End Zone’ (North of Arundel Street and Regina Lane) can expect Council’s ‘Wastewater Inflow Investigation’ to begin next week. Testing will last approximately four days.
Residents in affected areas will receive a letter regarding the tests at least 24 hours before testing begins.
Council is investigating where stormwater is flowing into our waste water system. If too much stormwater enters the wastewater system, it uses up capacity and can cause overflows and increased treatment costs. Tests will be conducted using a biodegradable dye.
Council apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused during testing.
