Christchurch company Brannigans has welcomed back a former employee to its Human Resource (HR) consultancy team.

Brannigans Chief Executive Garry Lund says the company is thrilled to have Barry McAlpine back on board.

“Barry was a valuable asset to the company when he first worked with us and I’m confident he’ll slot right back in to what is already a talented team and continue to offer our clients a quality service,” he says.

“His area of expertise is in the IT and high-tech industry field and his wealth of experience will be so beneficial to our clients. I know Barry will make a positive contribution to business and ultimately our clients.”

Brannigans is 100 per cent New Zealand owned and offers expertise in a broad range of HR disciplines including executive recruitment, human resource consultancy and employment law.

Barry McAlpine first worked at Brannigans from 2004 until 2008 before leaving to take up a position as an HR Manager for an IT Consultancy based in Christchurch. He says after two and a half years away from the company, it’s just like “coming home.”

“It really does feel like I’ve never been away. It’s great to be back working with the familiar, friendly faces, most of whom were here during my previous stint with Brannigans,” he says.

“I’m really looking forward to working in my specialist areas of HR consulting, executive search and selection, recruitment and identifying skill requirements and resourcing for the IT and Hi-Tech engineering sector.”

Barry has over 15 years international recruitment and HR consulting experience and has been involved in key, high profile recruitment and search projects on behalf of many of the world’s leading organisations.

His previous roles have included management and consulting roles with the leading HR consulting firms in both the UK and Australasia and was the Recruitment Manager for New Zealand’s largest electronics organisation.
