For the third consecutive year, Taupō’s Rural Fire team have stripped down to pose for the popular Taupō Fire Calendar to raise funds for new fire fighting equipment.
This year’s calendar has a different twist with our fire fighters wearing only body paint applied by NZ Bodyart artists. The calendar, which has an unusual creatures theme, will be the first of its kind in the country.
“We felt we needed to reinvent the calendar and I think our loyal customers will be pleased with the results,” said Principal Rural Fire Officer Phil Parker.
After the success of the first two years, Mr Parker said the team were keen to go bigger and better. “Let’s just say this year’s calendar is even better again. We have had a great time putting it together and hope the community enjoys it and supports the Rural Fire Team by purchasing one or three.”
“They make fabulous Christmas presents,” he suggested.
Last year the profits went towards communication equipment and this year profits will go towards further fire fighting equipment.
The ‘Unusual Creatures Bodyart Calendars’ will be available to be purchased from Taupō District Council’s Lake Terrace office and the Taupō i-Site Visitor Centre for only $10 from early November. Put your name down for one now!
