The owners of a much-loved holiday home in the Bay of Islands are walking away from the property laden with wonderful memories of long summer days with family and friends.

In an unusual real estate marketing approach, the vendors are selling their upmarket waterfront property complete with all the possessions inside which make up a fully-furnished residence – including a full range of ‘big boys toys’ stacked up high in the garage.

Along with the attractive ‘bricks and mortar’ up for sale, the home’s new owners will also pick up:

The five bedroom coastal home is being marketed by Bayleys – with an auction for the property taking place on Wednesday November 24. Bayleys sales consultants Lousie Rendell and Michael Pleciak said it was the first time they had heard of home owner’s selling a property leaving all the chattels in situ

“Quite simply, the time has come to sell. They’ve enjoyed using the waterfront property for years – watching the family grow up – and now just want to move on with their lives,” Mr Pleciak said.

“The owners live in Auckland and have neither the time nor the inclination to pack up all their possessions, so they’re selling the whole house and everything in it… lock, stock and barrel. They are perfectly comfortable severing all ties with what has been a very happy phase of their lives.

“The only things they’re taking with them are the framed family photos, their clothes, and the family dog”

Mrs Rendell said the cliff-top home overlooking Parekura Bay had four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two open fires, an outdoor entertainment and BBQ area with another fireplace and a spa to sit in and watch the beautiful bay of Islands’ sunsets. In addition to the main house, the property also had a separate studio unit with bathroom suitable for guests or teenagers. Since marketing on the property began in early September, Bayleys had received several enquiries from a range of buyers interested in purchasing the home for a summer retreat.

“It’s a very upmarket home spread over two levels which has undergone extensive renovations over the past two years – and with everything being left behind, it literally is a case of buying the property and turning up ready to go. Mr Pleciak said that while interest in the home had been steady, he hoped that the pending arrival of spring would raise marketing activity even further as the new owners would be entitled to move into the residence in time for the Christmas/New Year attractive holiday season.
