MARLBOROUGH

Council gardeners have been hard at work preparing our parks and gardens to look their best for the forthcoming Hunter’s Garden Marlborough when crowds of garden lovers arrive in town.

This event is one of the biggest on Marlborough’s calendar and has developed its own special status in the world of garden shows.  It relies on community-wide support and personal Marlborough hospitality to give it the edge over the big city events. The regulars love returning because they know they get such a warm welcome here.

This year Hunter’s Garden Marlborough has further expanded its programme, including a ‘garden art’ event showcasing local talent as well as nationally renown artists, and the big Saturday night event is a formal gala dinner at Drylands, hosted by long-time sponsor Jane Hunter.

Hunter’s Garden Marlborough now stretches over five days, giving us the opportunity to open the garden gates to visitors from all over the country.

It culminates with the traditional Garden Fête where the whole town can turn out to enjoy the garden-themed stalls and entertainment amid the public gardens of Seymour Square.
