The world’s premier netball league, the ANZ Championship, has renewed its sponsorship agreement with iconic automotive brand, Holden for a further two years.

The move will see Holden continue in its capacity as the competition’s official automotive sponsor.

ANZ Championship General Manager Anthony Everard said, “Holden has been an integral part of the growth of the league over the past three years, and we’re thrilled that they have renewed their commitment until the end of 2012.

“The gold medal match at the Commonwealth Games highlighted the intensity of the sport, and the athleticism of these world-class athletes.  The ANZ Championship offers the opportunity to see these players compete at club level week in, week out for four months each year”, said Everard.

Holden Sponsorship Manager Simon McNamara said the company’s commitment to netball proved to be an effective way of reaching new audiences.

“Our sponsorship of the game, from the grassroots to the elite level of competition, is allowing us to really enhance the appeal of our brand with audiences not traditionally linked to the Holden badge,” Mr McNamara said.

“We are very pleased to be renewing our partnership with netball which continues to provide an excellent platform to promote the Holden brand across Australia and New Zealand.  “We look forward to supporting another exciting year of the ANZ Championship as it goes from strength to the strength.”

To showcase the sponsorship Holden has developed a dedicated netball website, social media channels and e-newsletters to promote its broader association with Netball Australia, Netball New Zealand, the Holden Netball Test Series and various regional grassroots programs and junior clinics.

The 2011 ANZ Championship season will commence on 13 February.  For further information, please visit anz-championship.com.
