Hello from the Concept Motorsport Team and welcome to the pre-season update as the BNT V8s 2010-2011 Championship draws closer to the opening round at Pukekohe Park Raceway on 6-7 November 2010.

The team has been busy developing the car since the ITM 400 in Hamilton which saw driver Nick Ross finish 6th overall for the weekend. “It was a very pleasing result for me and the team” said Nick, “We had some good results over the 2009-2010 BNT V8s Championship but were also undone by some bad luck”. “To have the consistency and continuity of our performance in the Hamilton 400 is what the team is wanting to achieve going forward”. “We viewed Hamilton as the start of our new campaign for 2010-2011,  to build, continue to improve and develop the car to be consistently in the top 10 for the new championship season is where we want to be”, says Nick.

The winter months have been busy since the conclusion of Hamilton where the Concept Motorsport Holden was completely stripped and rebuilt, a huge undertaking for the Team mechanics and engineer. “The only benefit of having an extremely wet winter has been that we are ahead of where we want to be,” says Nick. “We have made some major changes for this season based on our key development learnings, this takes time and resource to achieve what we feel we needed to”.

The Concept Motorsport Holden had it's first outing in Taupo in September with a Shakedown after the rebuild the car has undergone. “We were very pleased with the car with the Shakedown going well, it is always good to get that first one under your belt without major complications”, says Nick.

September and early October has seen testing of the car with pleasing performance to date. “We will always be looking to improve the performance of the car. Track time is so valuable and imperative to drive car development”, Nick says.

“With such a competitive field in last years championship it can come down to 10ths or 100,s of a second in time from being in the top 10 or being outside it, we want to be at the sharp end so we can have a real crack!”

With the car being in top condition Nick has also undergone major physical conditioning and has worked very hard over the winter months in preparation for the new Championship season. With his Personal Coach Alison Storey, from Storey Sport they have spent considerable time working on programs for Nick to be at his best. “ Alison pushes me to my limit, it always feels better after I have finished a training session, if you show any weakness with Alison she will just go harder on you so like the car you have to perform”

The 15th of October saw the Concept Motorsport Holden unveiled at Pukekohe Park for further testing and the Media day sporting it's new design. The Team always looks forward to launching the finished product ahead of the new season.

“Everyone involved is a committed member of the Concept Motorsport Team, ensuring we do well is a focus and priority, to see the culmination of the Teams hard work is a proud moment for all Stakeholders, the Team, Business Partners and Supporters alike as we count down to the BNT V8s Championship for 2010 2011”, Nick says.
