Six NZ crews race in the medal finals at Lake Karapiro tomorrow (Friday) on Day 6 of the 2010 World Rowing Championships.

The medal finals now start in the mid-afternoon, giving NZ supporters the chance to get to the Lake in time to cheer on the host nation crews.

“The medal finals create a fantastic end to the day’s racing,” says CEO Tom Mayo. “Six Kiwi crews race in the finals, starting at 2.48pm. And then we’ve got Gin Wigmore playing on the main stage at the end of the day. It’s going to be fantastic. Leave work early and come on down.”

Racing on Friday starts at 11.23am with the C and B Finals. Then it’s the semi-finals for the men’s lightweight single sculls and the men’s double sculls. Reigning world champion Duncan Grant races for his place in Sunday's final at 14.03 and Nathan Cohen and Joseph Sullivan line up in the first men’s double semi at 14.23.
