Specialist recruitment agency Geneva Health has been named New Zealand’s favourite large recruiter for the third year in a row.

The award is part of the annual “SARA” awards, overseen by Australasia’s leading job search web site, SEEK. The best in each award category is voted by popular choice on a confidential basis and the awards recognise those companies that deliver outstanding service and results for their candidates and clients.

With three consecutive wins, Geneva Health has now attained “SEEK legend” status, which recognises companies that consistently achieve excellence in their specialist fields.

The best of New Zealand recruitment agencies were honoured at the eighth SEEK Annual Recruitment Awards (SARAs) on Friday 8th October in an exclusive Black tie event at the Hilton Hotel in Auckland.

Geneva Health General Manager Jane Clements says the award is recognition of the efforts made by Geneva Health to assist its candidates and clients to secure the best possible results for both.

She says the recent recession has been an especially challenging period for recruitment companies, their clients and employers.

“The health employment market has undergone significant change through the past few years, and we have worked very hard to ensure we are providing the best possible service to health employers and candidates.”

Geneva has provided “outstanding” commitment to its candidates and clients through the recession. It has given both groups exceptional support and continued to deliver extra services such as comprehensive candidate training and skill updates.

“We have had to change our strategies over the past couple of years, and really move beyond the traditional job-to-candidate match (and vice versa), by taking innovative ideas, strategies, knowledge and skills to our customers to try and be an integral part of their workforce management or career planning. There has been a lot more ‘work’ for free if you like, which means we move into an improving economy with some really fantastic relationships in place. These relationships are internal (our Geneva team), with our candidates, our clients and the market as a whole.”

“Even in a healthy economy, looking for a job can be immensely stressful. Having a recruitment agency that supports you though the process cannot be underestimated. We are very grateful to all our candidates and clients for their voting support, which shows we are indeed delivering exceptional service to them.”

The company places special emphasis on constantly looking at better ways to meet customers’ needs, and being “sassy, smart and a bit courageous in our services offered”.
“We have continued to try to keep actively in touch with our candidates and clients every step of the way, and we see this award as recognition of that hard work.”

Annemarie Duff, General Manager SEEK New Zealand, explains the significance of the awards in recognising how the recruitment industry has supported job seekers in a changing employment market.

“Winning agencies have provided outstanding levels of commitment to job seekers across New Zealand and supported them through this challenging period. We all know how stressful looking for a job can be, and having a recruitment agency that supports you though the process cannot be underestimated. The SARAs are a great opportunity to recognise the agencies that go the extra mile and provide exceptional levels of service.”
