According to a new study dogs have a special place when it comes to children with Autism. The study as seen in Psychoneuroendocrinology helped children to cope with challenging disorders such as autism. The study measured stress levels in the children before and after an interaction with a dog and noticed that when a dog was introduced into the mix the problem behaviours started to decrease.

Simon Goodall from Dog Guru says that this is most likely due to the calm nature of the dogs and would tolerate the behavioural issues of the children a lot better than humans would. Simon Goodall who trains dogs across the country and has dog training companies in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga and dog training classes in Wellington says that the news of dogs being able to help children is not new but the type of research being done is only going to get better as the studies grow.

Simon Goodall says that this is just the beginning and is looking forward to more growth in this area.
