A trio of Brancott Estate’s winning whites, have triumphed at the 2010 Air New Zealand Wine Awards with three wines being draped in gold.
As pioneers of the original Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, Brancott Estate was duly acknowledged with Brancott Estate Reserve Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010 and Brancott Estate Letter Series Brancott ‘B’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009 being awarded Pure Gold and Gold Medals respectively.
Brancott Estate Living Land Series Marlborough Pinot Gris 2010 was also awarded a Pure Gold Medal, with the acclaimed judging panel acknowledging the wine’s rich aromas of spice, floral and pear notes leading to a rounded palate, showing subtle sweetness and a lingering finish.
“These are outstanding results across our Brancott Estate range of wines. A fantastic achievement, of which our winemaking and viticultural teams can be extremely proud”, says Patrick Materman, Brancott Estate chief winemaker.
Owned by New Zealand Winegrowers, the Air New Zealand Wine Awards is the country’s premier wine competition, and regarded as the official competition of the New Zealand wine industry. This year's competition saw 1,579 wines entered from ten key wine growing regions.
