School kids are flocking to Splash Planet’s facebook page to get a free day for their class at New Zealand’s only water theme park at the end of the year.

Splash Planet’s facebook page cracked 1000 fans this week as the park opened for a scorching summer season and much of that has to do with the Splash Planet Facebook Freebie competition.

All classes have to do is ‘like’ the www.facebook.com/splashplanetnz page, write their school’s name and class in a comment on the Facebook wall and then get as many friends, parents and teachers to “like” their comment as possible.

The class with the most “likes” wins a whole day at Splash Planet, with the winning class being announced on Facebook on Monday, November 29.

So far Room 5 from Hastings Intermediate is taking the lead with heaps of family and friends getting behind them and other locals schools like Mahora, Frimley and Dannevirke High vying for the win.

Splash Planet manager Peran Hutchings says the kids are clearly really excited about the competition.

“People from all over the country have become fans of the page and classes from outside region are even entering the competition.

Locals not fortunate enough to win the free class trip can still get discounted entry to the park.

The Splash Planet Club Card gives Hawke’s Bay residents up to 50% off.  For $12 residents can buy a card which will get up to 10 people in a day with the locals’ discount. One can be downloaded at www.splashplanet.co.nz or pick one up at the park and bring proof of address to become a member.

A Whole Day’s Fun: Get wet on the Master Blaster, the speedy Sky Castle Screamer, the dark and eerie Sky Tunnel, the Super Cruiser, the relaxing Never Ending River, bumper boats, indoor heated pools, kayaks, the Double Dipper, toddler’s pool and Pirate Run.

For those wanting to stay dry there’s the Fantasy Express for young and old, Formula Fun, Jungle Jeeps, Tiny Town, mini golf, beach volleyball, the flying fox, and to re-energise go to the Coffee Bean Cove, the Fuel Shed or the Splash Planet Shop for a souvenir of the day.

Please note: Prize includes entry to Splash Planet only, does not include transport or any other associated costs. And Remember: Under 13-year-old need to get parents or teachers to vote on their behalf.
