Four trophies for Villa Maria at Air NZ Wine Awards

Villa Maria Estate has picked up four trophies at the Air NZ Wine Awards, two of them for the Private Bin Riesling 2010, a wine that is available around the world.
Villa Maria also retained its place as a Champion Chardonnay producer, the judges commenting that Villa Maria rightly wears the Chardonnay crown.
Trophy wins were for:
Villa Maria Private Bin Marlborough Dry Riesling 2010 - Champion Riesling
Villa Maria Private Bin Marlborough Dry Riesling 2010 - Champion Open White Wine
Villa Maria Reserve Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2009 - Champion Chardonnay
Villa Maria Single Vineyard Keltern Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2007 - Champion Exhibition White
These trophies add to the 14 gold medals already won by Villa Maria in the same competition.
Villa Maria Estate Managing Director Sir George Fistonich was very excited about the wins, particularly the Riesling trophy, “A trophy for our Private Bin Riesling is exceptional and enhances the successful track record of our Private Bin Range. Our Private Bin Sauvignon Blanc 2010 has also had great success recently picking up several awards including being named by Michael Cooper as the best white wine buy of the year”.
