Committed to helping Kiwis enjoy the good times of a New Zealand summer safely, Tip Top is proud to announce their inaugural partnership with Surf Life Saving New Zealand.

Tip Top’s Managing Director, Brett Charlton, says the company will focus their support on community education programmes in the Northern Region, National Jandal Day and the Junior Surf Series.

“Surf Life Saving is a fantastic programme dedicated to keeping us all safe on New Zealand’s beaches. With more than 30,000 Kiwi kids expected on the beaches this summer, we want to throw our support behind Surf Life Saving and help them with their programmes that teach our children how to stay safe when they’re swimming this summer.”

As the primary sponsor for the Beach Education, Surf to School and City Nippers programmes, Tip Top provide financial assistance, equipment and support to help Surf Life Saving.

“It’s a great partnership for us” said Tracy Wilson, Business Manager Surf Life Saving Northern Region, “it’s all about staying safe and having fun over the summer. It’s what Tip Top and Surf Life Saving are both all about and without Tip Top’s support we couldn’t do it.”

Involving nearly 140 schools the Beach Education and Surf to Schools programmes provide an opportunity for children to learn about practical beach and water safety from experienced surf lifesavers.

The City Nippers programme is a six week educational adventure that gives 700 inner-city kids training at their local beaches in water safety, being sun smart and learning the basics of surf lifesaving.

A strong supporter of National Jandal Day, Tip Top and their staff will be supporting the start of summer fundraiser by ensuring Aucklanders that pass Tip Top corner every day are made aware of Jandal Day with the impressive Jandal Day billboard over the Southern Motorway. Tip Top employees will also be giving up their time and taking to the streets to help the fundraising effort right across Auckland.

The Junior Surf Series provides an opportunity for kids aged four  to 12 years old to get down to the beach, with eight key junior surf events across the Northern Region.  Beaches include Red Beach, Omaha, Orewa, Waipu Cove and Muriwai.
