Ten years of entertainment and fun at SKYCITY Queenstown Casino will be celebrated next Tuesday (7 December) with a huge birthday bash and bumper cash prizes totalling $10, 000.

Locals, regulars and recipients of the SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Community Trust are all invited to join in the milestone festivities, which take place in true casino style featuring Showgirls, live music from Groova, complimentary cake and $10 food and beverage specials.

Cash draws for a public share of $2,000 start from 6pm. Anyone can enter by spending money on site during the day. The remaining $8,000 will be given away to SKYCITY’s loyalty Action Cardholders who have played to earn tickets into the draw.

Established in Queenstown in 2000, the Casino and its Wild Thyme Bar and Restaurant, has become a leading entertainment destination that extends well beyond gaming activity.

SKYCITY Queenstown Executive Manager Michelle Baillie said the company was extremely proud to have built a secure and active position in the Queenstown community, employing more than seventy staff (including three founding staff members) and with a track record supporting a wide range of community activities through its SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Community Trust and through a number of sponsorships.

“The team works hard to deliver a broad-based entertainment venue with quality products and consistently great service.  We take our host responsibility seriously as we do our mission to be a superior entertainment venue,” she said.

“Our business is not just about gaming tables and machines it’s about people and experiences. We aim to make everyone feel like a winner – our staff, our customers and the community - whether dancing, dining, gaming, working or receiving a grant at SKYCITY Queenstown Casino.

Over the past eight years SKYCITY Queenstown Casino has donated a total of $900,000 to 249 community groups in the Queenstown Lakes region through annual grants distributed through its SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Community Trust.   In 2010 a total of 44 recipient groups benefitted from $ 95,378.27 distributed by the Trust.

SKYCITY Queenstown Casino was recently named a finalist in the Large Business category at the 2010 Westpac Queenstown Chamber of Commerce Awards.

“We are passionate about our business and proud of what we have achieved over the last 10 years of entertaining and supporting Queenstown.  We are committed to being Queenstown’s entertainment destination for many more years to come,” said Ms Baillie.
