The Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand (Inc) has produced a fantastic new resource for its members - Helping Health cards. These cards have been designed for members to assist patients manage their own medical conditions.

The Guild has designed a Helping Health card for Weight Management, Heart Health and Warfarin Management. The wallet sized cards outline some quick facts, dos and don’ts for each condition and include a progress monitoring chart for patients to track their own progress. This member benefit provides each pharmacy that opts in with a display stand and a set of each of the cards.

“The Helping Health cards allow patients to take greater ownership of their chronic conditions,” says Guild President and community pharmacist, Ian Johnson. “By providing these cards in the pharmacy setting, pharmacists can play an essential role in the management of these long term conditions.

“Providing guidance on these conditions are just some of the services patients receive in the local pharmacy setting.”
