New image for popular Southern Lakes Women's Multisport event

A long running, popular women’s multisport event has been rebranded as the Fresh Choice Women’s Bike Run Tri and is being launched with a fresh image to create a point of difference in the fast growing local sports events market.

Previously known as the Southern Lakes Women’s Duathlon and Triathlon the event will be staged this year at Lake Hayes on March 5.

Director Pascale Lorre says after eight years the event has grown significantly and the format has changed and it is time to reflect those changes.

“After several years running a traditional triathlon we recently added a duathlon and this year there will be another new feature, an 8.1km run. With all these events being held under the one umbrella we opted for a more appropriate name. We also like the play on words, with ‘tri’ indicating not only triathlon but also ‘giving it a go’, which is what this event is all about.”

Lorre says there are other innovations planned which will be announced shortly.

“We have some exciting activities planned which will integrate with the Bike Run Tri which we are confident will appeal to the many women who turn out to support the event.”
