In association with Jameson, the world’s number one Irish whiskey, the highly anticipated Jameson Jam Sessions are back this summer with Christchurch’s hottest entertainment precinct, Sol Square, leading the way.
The first installment for 2011 will see reggae heavyweights The Black Seeds perform with talented acts Jayson Norris, A Hori Buzz and Chris Cope, in back to back sessions on Saturday 12 February.
All acts will expertly incorporate the sprawling genres of roots, dub, soul and rock to form their own individual sound, the Christchurch Jameson Jam Session is definitely looking to be a crowd-pleaser.
"The line up for this year’s 2011 Jameson Jam Sessions is outstanding and it’s great to be able to celebrate New Zealand talent – starting off in Christchurch," says Luan Howitt, NZ Marketing Manager for Jameson. "This year we are building on the success of the 2010 tour to bring our loyal fans the Jameson experience on a larger scale."
Headline act, The Black Seeds, have recently returned from the US, to bring their big-beat dub style to New Zealand gig-goers this summer.
"We’re really looking forward to sharing some new sounds with the crowd in Christchurch and there’s definitely no better way to do it than hitting the stage with some awesome Kiwi bands at the Jameson Jam Sessions," says lead singer Barnaby Weir.
Jameson is exceptionally smooth, triple distilled from the finest barley and pure spring water - perfect for mixing a Jameson & Dry while watching the Jameson Jam Session.
