With its launch now over the Eketahuna money exchange is ready for business and residents once again will have access to eftpos, money withdrawals, and banking deposits.

Eketahuna’s latest facility was officially opened last week by mayor Maureen Reynolds and councillor Claire Matthews with Eketahuna Community Board members and senior council staff in attendance.

The money exchange is a bonus for the town which has been without official banking facilities for many years.

Operating hours will be Monday – Friday 10.30am -12.30pm and 1pm – 4.30pm.

Businesses will be have access to a safety deposit box for regular banking with twice weekly delivery to respective banks in Masterton. Eketahuna staff had also received training assistance from bank staff in both Masterton and Pahiatua, council’s community development manager Troy Gerbich said.

Local residents have now been advised by letter of the facilities on offer and have six months to demonstrate its success before a decision on its future is made.
