The ANZ Championship today announced OfficeMax as the league’s new Associate Sponsor.

The two year agreement will see OfficeMax sit alongside Holden as a major partner for the league in both Australia and New Zealand in 2011 and 2012.

“We are delighted to announce the OfficeMax partnership with the ANZ Championship” said Brad Hyde, OfficeMax Brand Manager, Australasia.

“As a growing organisation in the Australian and New Zealand consumer sectors, we feel that the league is the perfect vehicle for OfficeMax to build a relationship with the general public, who may have been using our products for years but not necessarily known the full scope of what we do”, he continued.

“The ANZ Championship in Australasia has a great reputation that prides itself on integrity, formidable strength, inclusion and dexterity. We look forward to working together to support this outstanding competition”, said Cole.

In addition to Associate Sponsorship rights, OfficeMax will be the league’s Office Supplies Sponsor, and will receive significant signage and at match activation entitlements throughout the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

ANZ Championship General Manager Anthony Everard stated, “We couldn’t be happier in welcoming OfficeMax as a league sponsor”.

“Following the recent renewals of founding sponsors ANZ, Holden and ASICS, this announcement once again confirms the strong commercial appeal of the ANZ Championship as the competition approaches its fourth season”, he said.

OfficeMax is an international office supplies company, with its origins in New Zealand dating back over a century from the establishment of national stationer Coulls Somerville Wilkie in 1871 and publishing company Whitcombe and Tombs in 1888. Today the company now known as OfficeMax is one of New Zealand’s market leading office products resellers, with sales exceeding a quarter of a billion dollars each year.

Employing 700 New Zealand staff, the organisation sells office supplies, technology and furniture through catalogue orders, the website’s OrderMax service and retail stores nationwide. The organisation specialises in business supply, education supply and small and home office supply alongside general customers.

OfficeMax has operated for over 40 years in the Australian market, where it currently has an annual turnover of over $370 million and employs over 700 staff.

Since its inception in 2008, the ANZ Championship has rapidly established itself as the world’s best netball league, and has significantly increased the profile of netball in both Australia and New Zealand. With the support of key broadcast partners Network Ten (TEN and ONE) and SKY Sport, the 2010 season attracted 9.2 million television viewers.

Total match attendance in 2010 was 212,000, with a capacity crowd of 9,300 watching the Adelaide Thunderbirds defeat First Windows Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic in the Grand Final.

The ANZ Championship returns for its fourth season on 13 February 2011.
