With the planning for the International Ice Hockey games between USA & Canada in 2011 now well under way, excitement is building over what hockey stars will be representing their countries in this New Zealand first spectacle. The team rosters won’t be released for a couple of months yet, but promoter Gareth Webber promises to deliver the best players to ever reach our shores.

USA & Canada will face off in a 3 games series in New Zealand’s largest venues, starting in Auckland’s Vector Arena on 23rd July, then CBS Canterbury Arena in Christchurch on 30th July 2011, before finishing in a decider at Dunedin Ice Stadium.

The two countries will be playing for the New Zealand Exhibition Cup; the winner being the team with the most goals overall 3 games.

The International Ice Hockey isn’t just for fans of the sport. The promoters, Douglas Webber Events are known for producing action packed shows around extreme sporting events to create an all-round entertainment package. Sound & lighting effects, pyrotechnics, LPG flamethrowers and entertainers will fill every minute of the 3 hour events and ‘Hockey 101’ tutorials will guide the spectators who are new to the sport throughout the games.

Tickets for the July & August games will be available from Ticket Master (Auckland), Ticketek (Christchurch) and Cosmic Ticketing (Dunedin) 1st March2011 and are expected to cost as low as $80 and as high as $2,500 for a catered VIP table.
