The South Island’s largest ski area, Treble Cone, today announced its early bird 2011 season pass prices and packages, on sale from Saturday 12th February.

Treble Cone’s expansive terrain over two large basins offers freeride skiers and snowboarders a season of fun exploring on and off piste with kilometres of exciting undulating runs and a spectacular view. The early bird adult season passes are available as a Five Day Powder Pass for $375, a 10-Day Pass for $649 or an Unlimited Season Pass for $1069. Additional discounted day passes can be purchased with the five and ten day passes.

Treble Cone’s initiatives encourage local youth and families to make Treble Cone their mountain of choice with the continuation of the locals’ youth pass which provides unlimited skiing for the region’s school children for just $159 or free for the under six-year-olds.

A free youth pass is on offer for all children who enrol in Treble Cone’s Riders & Sliders or TC Freeride programme. The Sunday programmes are aimed at youngsters who want to explore new terrain, enhance their skiing and riding and learn new mountain skills in groups of similar ability under the expert guidance of Treble Cone instructors. Bookings need to be made prior to 31 May 2011.

The TC Family Pass or Mountain Package provides great value for a family’s winter fun on the mountain. The package includes adult and youth season passes for all the family (two adults, two children) plus Riders & Sliders for children aged 4-12 years, plus complimentary child care for three to six year olds throughout the season for $2,049. Families who do not want the Rider & Slider/childcare add-on can purchase a Family Season Pass for just $1,799 providing unlimited skiing and riding for all the family.

With online pass bookings, customers will be offered the three-instalment payment plan for three of the Early Bird passes. Online purchasers of the Unlimited Adult and both Family Season Passes can spread the payment over three months (terms and conditions apply).

“We aim to make skiing and snowboarding as affordable as possible for locals across all sectors of the community,” said Treble Cone ski area manager Jackie Van der Voort. “The family passes have been an increasingly popular purchase over the past few years and it is great to see so many families incorporating snow sports in to their recreational activities throughout winter.”
Treble Cone early bird season passes are available from 12 February to 13 March 2011 either online at www.treblecone.com or by visiting the new downtown Wanaka office on Dungarvon Street.

The 2011 season is expected to run from 23 June to 2 October.
