Athletics New Zealand Event Management Appointment Announced

Athletics New Zealand has confirmed a new approach to the delivery of its events.

Mayo And Ltd, a Sports Marketing company that specialises in the promotion and organisation of events including sponsorship sales and marketing, has been contracted to deliver a higher quality of events than has previously been provided. Mayo And Ltd will provide guidance and support to Local Organising Committees and assist in the planning, funding and presentation of key Athletics NZ events. Led by Director Tom Mayo, the focus will be on actively seeking partnerships with key providers for the delivery of commercially successful and strategically valuable events.

Additionally, Athletics NZ will soon announce the appointment of an in-house Events Manager who will support Mayo And Ltd and provide assistance to event hosts and the implementation of some new initiatives.

In announcing the new approach, Sport Manager Brett Addison explains that the intention is drive a new level of experience and quality of event for our members and participants. “As we broaden our appeal to a wider market, it is imperative that we provide accessible and high quality opportunities for people to take part in our events”, says Addison. “This new approach and agreement with Mayo And Ltd will help us achieve this over the next few years.”
