Council to trial online customer satisfaction survey

The Invercargill City Council is trialling a new online customer satisfaction survey.

Invercargill City Council Corporate Planner Melissa Short said 3000 ratepayers had been randomly selected and were being posted a written invitation in the next few days, to take part in this online survey.

“The responses to this survey will help Council gain a better understanding of the issues and options important to Invercargill ratepayers and residents,” Mrs Short said.

To take part in this 10 minute online survey people are being asked to go to Council’s website at www.icc.govt.nz and click on the “How do you rate Council Services” link which is highlighted on the front page of Council’s website.

Mrs Short said the online survey was open to all Invercargill residents aged 18 years and over.

“While we have only posted out 3000 letter invitations we are encouraging all residents and ratepayers to go online and take part in the survey as well.”

Mrs Short said if people did not have access to a computer to complete the survey online they were welcome to phone Council’s Customer Support Service team on 211 1777 or visit Civic Administration Building at 101 Esk Street or the Bluff Service Centre, Gore Street, to request a paper version of the survey.

“The information you provide is important. It will help guide the Council to better manage current services and to plan future improvements.”

Every survey participant was eligible to enter the draw to win a meal voucher, Ms Short said.

“By offering a meal voucher we hope to encourage people to take part.

“This is the first time we have opted to do the survey online and hope to undertake more consultation via online methods if this is successful.”

A summary of the results obtained from the survey will be available on Council’s website www.icc.govt.nz from May 2011.
