HAWKE'S BAY

  • Central Hawke’s Bay Promotions Appoint a New Team.
  • Introducing the Lamb Country Festival Logo Competition.

Central Hawke’s Bay Promotions are pleased to welcome Carol-Ann Stubbs and Christine Shanahan to the Lamb Country team. They will produce New Zealand’s first Lamb Country Festival in September 2011 in-conjunction with the Real New Zealand Festival surrounding the World Cup Rugby 2011 and rebrand the region to Lamb Country.

Carol-Ann Stubbs comes with a wealth of events experience having produced quality events such as the Mission Concert, Opera at Oruawharo and Hawke’s Bay Wine & Food Festival. Most people would recognise Carol-Ann and her local knowledge will be an asset to ensure the Lamb Country Festival utilises the community.

“We want the community to be fully involved with the festival so businesses should get in touch with what they have to offer by means of sponsorship and infrastructure supplies,” says Carol-Ann Stubbs, Events Manager for Central Hawke’s Bay Promotions.

Christine Shanahan joins the CHB Promotions team as the newly appointed Marketing and Communications Tourism Manager. Originally from Wellington, Christine has an international background in Tourism, Marketing & Events. Most recently she was involved with the rebrand of APN’s Hawke’s Bay Today - Hawkes Bay Homes. Shanahan also worked on world class events including Gisborne’s Rhythm & Vines, MTV Networks Australia, ONE80PROJECT and the Jack Johnson Tour. Christine’s mother originally came from a farm in Waipukurau.

“It’s a privilege to earn the role and help launch September’s Lamb Country Festival and rebrand the region to Lamb Country. It’s exciting times because we have the opportunity to showcase the region in September, at New Zealand’s first Lamb Country Festival. To begin with we will draw on the talents of Central Hawke’s Bay’s artists to create a logo in our new Lamb Country Logo Competition.”

The first initiative to involve the CHB community is the Lamb Country Festival Logo Competition. Call to entry is open now for all budding designers and artists to design a Lamb Country Logo. The logo competition is open to all New Zealand residents to design a logo that best represents our region Central Hawke’s Bay using the words ‘Lamb Country, Central Hawkes Bay, New Zealand’.

There will be two winners, the Peoples Choice Award voted by the public and Overall Winner. The logo of the Overall Winner will be used for the Lamb Country Festival. There will be more great prizes up for grabs from our sponsors including an Olympus 600UZ valued at $399 from the Amcal Pharmacy.

The Lamb Country Logo Competition closes at 5pm on Wednesday 16 March so artists are encouraged to get their creative juices flowing and enter great ideas now.
After entries are closed CHB Promotions will select the Top 10. Then the public will have a chance to vote on their Top 10 favourite entry for the Peoples’ Choice Award.

They will be displayed on the window at Tee Jays Emporium on Ruataniwha Street, Waipukurau from Saturday 19 March until Thursday 24 March and viewed www.chb.co.nz. You can vote for your favourite entry by emailing info@chb.co.nz, online www.chb.co.nz or drop into the Waipukurau Information Centre at the Railway Station.

The winners of the Lamb Country Logo Competition will be announced on Friday 25th March at the Lamb Country Launch at Civic Theatre from 6pm – all welcome. For more details, head to www.chb.co.nz and download an entry form.
