Rhema Broadcasting Group (RBG), the largest private 100% New Zealand owned independent media group, is showing its support for Christchurch. Christian radio station Life fm, part of RBG’s media network, has redirected the focus of this year’s annual appeal to raising money for Christchurch.
Life fm, a 75% listener-funded station, has responded to the tragic Christchurch earthquake by channeling their fund raising efforts to helping those affected. Life fm Programme Director Asher Bastion comments,
“Life fm’s annual appeals are aimed at raising funds to maintain operations for us, as we are a not-for-profit organization. But, as we are all aware, there is a great need to be met in Christchurch right now.”
People will still be able to support Life fm if they desire but on-air efforts will concentrate on raising money for the disaster in Canterbury.
The Life fm team will liaise with church leaders in Christchurch to channel 100% of the funds to where they will be most useful.
People can donate via either phoning the appeal call centre (0508 003 003) or via lifefm.co.nz.
