Christchurch kids enjoy local polls for free

Lakes Leisure have offered all Christchurch residents the opportunity to use the facilities at Alpine Aqualand, Alpine Health & Fitness and the Wanaka Community Pool at significantly discounted rates, with Christchurch children, seniors and beneficiaries being welcomed to the pools for free during the month of March.

Adults wanting to use the facilities will do so at the same rates seniors and beneficiaries currently enjoy. A visit to Alpine Aqualand or Alpine Health & Fitness will cost $4.50 and $13.00 for Christchurch residents respectively. Adults will only pay $4 to swim at the Wanaka Community Pool. People are also reminded that pool spectators are always free.

Lakes Leisure CEO, Fiona McKissock said the decision did not require a great deal of consideration.

“It’s the least we can do to help make all those people currently staying in Queenstown and Wanaka feel welcome. All of these families have been through so much. If they can come to the pool and have some fun then we are more than happy to help.”

Residents should bring some form of identification that supports their living in Christchurch and will be asked to sign in on arrival. Seniors and beneficiaries will need to have a Super Gold or Community Services card to be eligible for free entry.
