HAMILTON

A quirky, attention-grabbing campaign from Hamilton IT services company CodeBlue saw dozens of arms and legs land on the desks of financial decision makers in Waikato companies recently.

The CFOs of several Waikato-based businesses received a white plastic arm and leg anchored to a blue board, with a personalised CodeBlue branded note asking: “Are you paying too much for your IT support?” and a direction to contact CodeBlue.

CodeBlue Hamilton’s Managing Director Jason Trower says the offbeat campaign certainly got people talking and was a great way to introduce CodeBlue Hamilton to local companies.

“This was our first major campaign and the response was very positive. We have had a number of enquiries from companies wanting to know how CodeBlue can help them cut the cost of their IT support,” he says.

Jason Trower’s IT services company Level10, established in Hamilton for almost five years, joined CodeBlue in December 2010. The merger has united a strong team of committed, knowledgeable people with CodeBlue’s full range and depth of managed services to create one of the strongest IT services teams in the Waikato. The team operates out of the new CodeBlue Hamilton offices on Victoria Street, working steadily to introduce local businesses to the CodeBlue ‘way’ of operating: the company promises to slash 20-40% out of the ongoing costs of supporting an IT infrastructure while concurrently improving system quality, reliability and security – all for a fixed monthly price.

Trower says that it is the quality of the CodeBlue team that makes difference. “Having the right people on board is critical to our success and we’ve got a really strong team with complementary skill sets,” he says.

Code Blue Hamilton is locally owned and operated and Trower says the company is committed to the region. “Our goal is to be the preeminent IT service provider for businesses in the Waikato region within five years,” he says.

“The combination of great people with high quality managed services, tools and processes, means we have a major competitive edge in achieving that goal. Other competitors struggle to offer such depth and breadth of service at such an aggressive price; and – most importantly – a fixed monthly price. That’s very powerful for customers.”

“We have a genuinely proactive focus in everything we do. We take the time to identify exactly what a company needs, so that we can address specific issues and set up a plan to help the customer maximise their IT. Most other IT service providers can’t, or won’t, do that. We’re looking to become partners of our customers, not suppliers. As a partner we can offer the most value”

Ian Funnell, CodeBlue’s National General Manager, says that CodeBlue Hamilton’s combination of a strong, highly skilled team of people, and strong services capability is exactly what local Waikato businesses in the 20-500 seat market need.

“There are very few IT services companies in the region with the capability to deliver the kind of unique, well-priced, highly-focussed solutions that the 20-500 seat market needs. CodeBlue Hamilton is well placed to fill that gap,” he says.
