Microsoft New Zealand today announced the appointment of Pia Dalum to the role of Human Resources Director. Pia started in the role on February 14 2011.

Pia’s core responsibilities will include accountability for recruitment, leadership and organisational development, diversity, compensation and benefits, tools and processes, and employee relations. She will also provide strategic assistance to the senior leadership team in driving the people strategy for Microsoft New Zealand. Pia will be part of a regional HR team collaborating across Australasia.

“Pia is an excellent addition to the Microsoft New Zealand team,” says Paul Muckleston, Managing Director for Microsoft New Zealand.

“She has extensive experience within the HR in the IT industry and has previously worked for Microsoft in Copenhagen. Pia has a strong mix of emotional and intellectual intelligence, and a number of successful projects under her belt – we look forward to welcoming her to the team.”

Pia joins Microsoft New Zealand from Microsoft Customer Service and Support in the Europe, Middle East Africa (EMEA) region where she held the position of HR Manager. This role saw her supporting the EMEA leadership team and an organisation covering 24 Microsoft subsidiaries across the region. Prior to that international role she worked several years in the Danish subsidiary as a Senior HR Business Partner. Before joining Microsoft in 2004, Pia was HR Manager for a Danish subsidiary in the Finnish IT company, TietoEnator.
