The final instalment of Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part Two, has made its way to New Zealand screens when it premiered on the 15th of July 2011.

Part two of the epic final based on the J.K Rowling book was definitely filled with action as Harry battles Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) for the last time. Thankfully this one was not as slow as part one which set the scene for the battle, leaving only the action and excitement for part two.

The film carries on directly from where the first part left off with Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) looking for Voldemort’s Horcruxus to destroy.

Harry and the gang are eventually forced to sneak their way into Hogwarts with some help from Dumbledore’s brother (Ciaran Hinds) to rally their alliances in time for the final battle.

The one thing about this film that was a bit troubling was the presence of Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane). He is non-existent in the film until the very end when he appears in the woods randomly as a prisoner of Voldemort.

Radcliffe, Watson and Grint stay true to their characters in this film as the magical and courageous heroes they are portrayed to be while some characters are finally revealed for their true role in this story.

The action and magic in the movie is detailed and captivating as the visual effects companies that worked on part one, including Framestore, managed to stage a grand battle at the Hogwart’s grounds.

For the extreme Harry Potter fans the movie may not be quite as satisfying as there are a few parts that have not been given much detail and attention in the film as in the book.

As for those who have just enjoyed following along with the films it is definitely one of the better ones from the series and answers all the questions from the beginning.
