Mark Lockhart (Red Door - Woody Bay, Rakino) advises that he received a grant of $6,300.00 last year  from ACC / ARC for planting work on Rakino Island in the Hauraki Gulf, Auckland.

As part of his proposed planting for the DOC reserve on the island, he needs to get about 1200 small (Pb3) plants from Waiheke to Rakino in the middle of Winter. The plants are purchased from Gulf Trees on Waiheke and they are usually delivered to Matiatia and picked up from there.

Mark is asking for any contacts/ideas about how the plants could be brought over to Rakino. If somebody volunteered to use their boat, Mark will provide petrol money and food.

Once a suitable weekend has been organized, Mark will be asking for volunteers. Contact/registration of interest can be made through sue@globo.co.nz now. Teenagers are welcome.
