Work has begun today to repair damage to Holmes Wharf; the damage has mostly been caused by vehicles on the wharf.

Carpenters will undertake some maintenance work on the decking of Holmes Wharf fixing holes and replacing decking.

Repairs will not be made to the whole wharf. Only the most urgent areas will be attended to. These are areas where there is a risk for the public.

The work is expected to last for a couple of weeks. Exact dates will not be clear until some of the decking timber is lifted and the full extent of the work cab be assessed.

Council will be replacing the timber with Australian hardwood decking timber. The Historic Places Trust has been informed of the works.

There will be some disruption to the regular use of Holmes Wharf. Council appreciates the patience of users during these works.
