WELLINGTON CITY

Speciality brewer Moa Beer is now available in Wellington’s Vista Café, right on Oriental Bay.

A full range of the Marlborough-brewed beer is now available at Vista, with Moa Methode and Moa Pale Ale also available on tap. Vista is the only outlet in sunny Oriental Bay to supply Moa Beer.

Vista chef and owner Dale Keith says, “We are thrilled to be selling the full range of Moa’s ten premium beers. The beauty of Moa is that it’s not only a real bloke’s drink with beers such as the Moa Pale Ale and Moa Noir, but there are varieties that are lighter and appeal to a lot of women.

“We had a tasting here a week ago, and some of the women who had never liked beer are now true converts to the Moa Breakfast beer that tastes of floral Nelson hops and cherries. They also loved the Moa Blanc. They all said they would be drinking Moa from now on”.

Moa’s brewer Josh Scott says,”It’s a pleasure to be supplying Vista Café with Moa beer. Dale and the crew have always been great supporters of local suppliers, and we’re pleased that they now have a true Kiwi brand doing the business for them”.

Vista Café has been owned by Dale and Lexia Keith since 1998. Since then they have developed Vista into not only a friendly and popular neighbourhood café, but also a sophisticated night time dinner and functions venue. Vista specialises in cooking with truly seasonal local produce (you won’t see a tomato there in the middle of winter!)

Background on Moa Beer

Moa Beer was established in Marlborough in 2003 by winemaker-turned-brewer Josh Scott, aged 29. Josh applies winemaking techniques to his handcrafted beers, including bottle fermentation (like champagne) and barrel ageing. And, like champagne, Moa comes in bigger bottles than traditional beers, ranging from 375ml to 1.5l magnums to a 3L jeroboam for extra-special occasions.
