LYTTELTON

The Lyttelton Library opened its doors again today, following the earthquake of 22 February.

“Everyone worked extremely hard to get the library back into working order so we could reopen today.  The library is an important hub in the Lyttelton community, so it was fantastic to see it reopen its doors,”  says Carolyn Robertson, Libraries and Information Manager.

Christchurch City Libraries’ Mobile Library will also be out in the community on Saturday 9 April, supporting the Community Market Day at Shirley Intermediate School.  Retailers from The Palms will be selling their wares at the Market Day and families can catch up with their favourite characters at the Mobile Library.

The Mobile Library has also had to change its timetable due to the impact of the earthquake.  New locations are being used on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The following are changes to the Mobile Library timetable:

Monday and Wednesday

Christchurch City Council Linwood Service Centre, 180 Smith Street

9.30am – 4.30pm (Look for the sign at the Linwood Avenue entrance)

Friday    Ferrymead Shopping Centre, near the Mitre 10 Garden Centre

             9.30am – 4.30pm, commencing 15 April

Saturday   Shirley Intermediate School Car Park

                9.30am – 4.30pm

This revised timetable will remain in place until further notice.
