Invercargill’s Recycle Drop-off Centre has been relocated to Ettrick Street as of 8 am today (Friday, April 22).

Invercargill City Council’s Senior Waste Minimisation Officer Donna Peterson said the Recycle Drop-off Centre operated by Southland disAbility Enterprises was being moved from its old premises at 191 Bond Street to new premises on the corner of Ettrick and Mersey Streets.

“The move to the new premises marks the beginning of the new recycling and rubbish service for Southland District and Invercargill City residents.

“The new drop-off centre will shortly have a fully covered-in access and a sealed road making it easier and quicker for people to be able to drop off their recycling,” Ms Peterson said.

Southland disAbility Enterprises General Manager Ian Beker said that he felt the new drop-off centre would be a marked improvement for users and the other major change was that his staff would be able to help people unload, making their time there much more pleasant.

The Recycle Centre will be accessible 24 hours per day/seven days per week and accepts clean plastic, paper and cardboard, glass bottles and jars, tin and aluminium cans.
