Break in Wairoa township water supply pipe - Civil Defence

The main pipeline delivering water to the boundary tanks that supply water to households and businesses in the Wairoa township has sustained damage.

At this stage there is no need to boil water as there is sufficient storage at the present time within township water tanks.

Wairoa District Council is advising people to reduce water consumption at the present – try to avoid unnecessary ablutions, doing the laundry, putting on the dishwasher - conserve water until further notice.
