Taupō District Council has appointed Nick Reader as the new District Events Manager to facilitate and enable growth in the event industry throughout the District.

Nick begins in the position on Monday 30th May, replacing Warwick Hall who recently left council to pursue other ventures. Nick is the currently the Director of Epic Events (www.epicevents.co.nz) and has an excellent commercial background running a range of popular events in the Taupo region. Nick was also involved in the highly successful International Six Day Enduro (ISDE) event in 2006.

Nick is now looking forward to transitioning from his current company to his new position, and plans to facilitate growth across all spectrums of the Taupo District events. “The Taupō District already has a fantastic position in the events industry and is widely known as the country’s Events Capital, including an international award and high calibre events such as Ironman and Cycle Challenge. I’m really keen to continue building on this, and will be working closely with everyone involved in the industry locally, nationally and internationally.”

Council Business Development Manager Will Samuel is delighted with the new appointment to the Business Development team. “We look forward to Nick applying his extensive skills and experience in collaboration with all the stakeholders in the region”

For anything relating to Events Capital or Taupo District Council events, please contact Will Samuel prior to Monday 30th May, or Nick Reader after this date.
