The present bus stop in Lee Road has been moved south of the Meeanee Road intersection and a new bus stop located on Puketapu Road, west of the roundabout at the south end of the Taradale shopping centre.

The relocated bus stop is part of Route 12, which continues on to Hastings via EIT. The new bus stop serves Route 13, which turns from Lee Road into Puketapu Road and then returns to the city via Church Road and Tamatea.

The changes, aimed at enhancing safety and passenger convenience, were triggered by plans for improvements to the Gloucester Street/Lee Road intersections and a free-flowing cycle lane on the eastern side of Lee Road.

As a result of the changes, three vehicle parks were removed on Lee Road and two on Puketapu Road. The new configuration will also dovetail with the planned upgrade of the Meeanee Road/Lee Road intersection.
