Waimakariri residents are warmly invited to hear about the progress being made on water management priorities in their district.

“Since the Waimakariri Zone Committee was formed last year we’ve been working hard to understand the water management issues in our zone and begin to develop solutions,” said Murray Lang, chair of the zone committee.

“This has included briefings from technical experts, field trips around the district, and meeting with stakeholders to gauge the range of views on water management issues in our zone.

“We are now at the point where we can brief people on our progress and what we believe are the priorities for water management in Waimakariri district.

“We are very keen to hear people’s views on the priorities for water management and the two public meetings are an opportunity for Waimakariri residents to have their say.”

The feedback from the meetings will help the Waimakariri Zone Committee develop its draft Zone Implementation Programme over the coming months.
