Exchanging scrap metal for cash has just become a whole lot easier for Aucklanders with the launch of Metal Exchange’s second branch.

The new Metal Exchange site in Glenfield provides a whole new scrap metal experience - a quick, clean and easy drive-through service, conveniently located for north-of-the-bridge DIY-ers, tradespeople or anyone looking to offload surplus metal.

Metal Exchange director Eldon Reeve says the focus is very much on convenience.

“When we launched our first Metal Exchange branch in Otahuhu in 2008, we wanted to do things differently and make the scrap metal experience easy and enjoyable for our customers.

“We recognised that convenience and cash were key – the last thing you want is to have to drive halfway across town to trade in your scrap, especially if you’re a busy tradesperson.

“Our new North Shore site provides the ultimate in one-stop service – simply drive in, drop off your metal and we’ll give you cold hard cash in exchange,” Eldon says.

Eldon says he hopes having two handy locations will mean even more people will take the opportunity to trade in their metal and increase the amount of metal that Auckland recycles.

“Recycling scrap metal helps keep New Zealand clean and green for future generations by preventing metal items from ending up in landfills, and ensures metal can be reused over and over again,” he says.

Metal Exchange’s two Auckland branches are located at 245 Archers Rd, Glenfield, and the cnr of Beach Rd and James Fletcher Drive, Otahuhu.

To celebrate the opening of the new branch, Metal Exchange is giving trade professionals an extra $10 cash for every $100 worth of metal exchanged at both the North Shore and Otahuhu sites until 31 July 2011.
