ROTORUA

It would be hard to find a New Zealander that has not heard of Lynley Dodd.

From her famous dog Hairy Maclary to the naughty cat Slinky Malinki, her books have captivated readers both locally and internationally for over twenty years.

This exhibition includes both working drawings and iconic art works, and is a rare opportunity to see the creative magic behind the genius of Dame Lynley Dodd.

Dodd is an award-winning author of children’s books, and in 2002 received the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to children's literature and book illustration.

Her well-loved stories with their lively rhymes, fun animal characters and memorable illustrations have become icons of children’s literature.

The exhibition will be on display at Rotorua Museum until 31 July 2011.

Entry to the exhibition is included with admission to Rotorua Museum, which is free for Rotorua residents with proof of residency.
