Guild welcomes agreement with insurance and risk advisor Marsh Ltd

The Guild welcomes an agreement with Marsh Ltd to provide insurance broking and risk services to its members. This agreement arises out of the departure of Guild Insurance from the New Zealand market.

Guild chief executive Annabel Young says this is great news for Guild members who have policies outstanding with Guild Insurance.

“We are very conscious that the recent earthquakes have added an extra urgency to get this new arrangement with Marsh in place,” she said. “Marsh is committed to working with pharmacies who are currently insured with Guild Insurance. That said we have real concerns about the effect of the latest earthquake on the availability of insurance capacity in the Canterbury region.”

“Our members can rest assured that where they were insured with Guild Insurance and have suffered losses, these losses will be dealt with by Guild Insurance. The Guild wants to ensure that members have available to them the services which had previously been provided by Guild Insurance.”

Ms Young says Marsh is a respected global insurance broking and risk adviser that has been operating in New Zealand since 1958 where it has over 200 staff in seven offices. It operates in over 100 countries and has an excellent record.

Garry Bray, executive director of Marsh Ltd, says Marsh is delighted to have secured the services of Mark Keating who will be known to many of our members and will continue to manage this business. Mr Keating will now actively contact existing Guild Insurance members to review insurance needs and to put in place cover which meets their needs. He will also approach other Guild members with respect to providing the same services.

“We look forward to working closely with The Guild and its members to develop a long term partnership,” Mr Bray said.
