Hastings welcomes 12 new citizens

Hastings will welcome 12 new New Zealanders, at a citizenship ceremony to be held on Monday June 27th, 2011 from 6pm in the District Council Chamber, Lyndon Road, Hastings.

The candidates’ nationalities are as follows:

British 5
British American 1
South African 1
Samoan 3
Dutch 1
Romanian 1

A Kaumatua will welcome those present on behalf of tangata whenua.

Hastings District Councillors will present each candidate with a kowhai tree to symbolise ‘putting down roots’.
