PALMERSTON NORTH

Netball New Zealand named the 2007/8 NZA and NZU21 Squads this afternoon in Palmerston North following the final of the Scottwood Trust Netball Champs.

The 2007/8 NZA Squad is reduced in number to up to 10 players as the focus shifts to the NZU21 Squad in preparation for the 2009 World Youth Cup in the Cook Islands.

Seven players have been selected in the NZA Squad, though additional players may be added next year as National Selectors consider performances of players during the Tasman Trophy.

The 2007/8 NZA Squad is:

The criteria for selection in the 2007/8 NZ Under 21 Squad included eligibility for the 2009 World Youth Cup. To meet this criteria, players needed to have been born in 1988 or later.
