Steinlager brings back white can

It’s rare to come across support that is 100% unconditional, through thick or thin, high and lows. But that is the support that Steinlager has given the All Blacks for the last 25 years, and to celebrate, it is bringing back the iconic white can.

Firmly rooted as the longest standing sponsor of the All Blacks, Steinlager has stood alongside the boys since the days of legends such as Kirk, Shelford and Whetton. As new legends have been made, Steinlager remains on the sideline, cheering them on, no matter the outcome.

Todd Gordon from Steinlager says that it’s no secret that this year will be one of the greatest for New Zealand and New Zealand rugby.

“In the 25 years since Steinlager signed up as a major supporter of the All Blacks, we have stood by the team as they have faced challenges in rugby stadiums around the world.”

“This year will be no different. Everyone loves a comeback, and we hope that fans enjoy the return of the can, as we wish the All Blacks all the best,” says Gordon.

Steinlager’s Classic white can will be making its return along with the launch of a new TV ad, which presents a group of die-hard All Blacks fans showing their support of their favourite team for the last 25 years.

A WETA-based makeup team was on hand to “age” the group, and bring them from 25 years ago into the present – where we are all still waiting, hoping, and standing behind the team.

Steve Tew, CEO of the New Zealand Rugby Union, says “Over the last 25 years Steinlager has shown its support for rugby in many different ways and together we have shared the triumphs and setbacks. We are grateful for the longevity of their involvement with us.”

“2011 is an important and exciting year for rugby in New Zealand. We look forward to having Steinlager alongside us as unconditional supporters of the All Blacks and the NZRU now and in the future,” says Tew.

Steinlager Classic white cans are available for a limited time from the launch of the ad on July 3rd.

Also being released is a limited edition black bottle that will be found on premise at all Steinlager bars, so remember to tip your hat – or bottles – to the All Blacks when you’re out and about.
