The Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) has renewed the contract of Chief Executive, Mark Flowers, for a further five years from October 1, 2011.

This was confirmed today by Chair of Council, Gordon Chesterman. Mr Flowers' new contract will expire in 2016. He has been Chief Executive of Wintec since 2002 and this is the second renewal of his contract.

Mr Chesterman said the governing Council was delighted that the contract had been renewed and this provided the institute with continuity, including Mr Flowers’ strong leadership of the campus and technology modernisation programme, and our international strategy.

"Mark has done an exceptional job for Wintec and we wanted to ensure that our relationship continued while we move towards completing a $60m campus modernisation programme", Mr Chesterman said.
