Britz Campervan’s are gearing up to offer a new adventure option that will create an even more amazing experience for the Kiwi self-drive holiday – Britz Bikes.

Imagine reaching your destination and being able to get even closer to nature, or avoid those inner city parking problems with your very own peddle power?

Britz has teamed up with hire company, Natural High, to provide bikes as an optional extra when securing a Britz campervan or car. Natural High has been pedalling adventures since 1996 and is one of the country’s premier bike hire and cycle touring companies.

Britz Brand Manager Sharron Clark says, “Natural High’s association with Britz means more freedom, and more adventures. Travellers can choose from the Britz Hybrid model that’s ideal for those rambling country trails and city slicker riding, or for some serious off-road riding then the Britz’s Mountain Bike is just the ticket. And to make travelling even easier, bike racks are also available for hire for both campervan and car rentals.”

With Britz and Britz Bikes you can create your own unique adventure and enjoy lasting family memories, she says.

“Britz has a range of campervans and rental cars available that lets you explore the wonders of New Zealand while savouring the journey in your home-away-from-home.”

All campervans provide everything needed for a stress free holiday, whether it’s just the two of you, or the entire family. From freshly laundered linen to cutlery and a can opener, your Britz camper comes full equipped, so you need only think of your destination.

“And with the addition of the Britz Bikes there’s a new dimension to your trip, letting you experience those out-of-the-way places that make a holiday special,” says Sharron.

New Zealand’s cycle ways have become a firm favourite with travellers, providing a great way to explore Gods Own. With trails like the 100km Queenstown trail that encompasses the majestic Wakatipu Basin, the Gibbston Valley wine region and historic Arrowtown or the Twin Coast Cycle Trail exploring the history and beauty of our upper North Island through towns like Kawakawa and Opua, it’s not hard to see why.

Britz Bikes will be available for bookings from 4 July 2011, and travel from 1 September 2011, from Auckland and Christchurch.

Bike hire is available for as little as $16 per day and to keep you pedalling up to speed there are plenty of extras included in the price: helmet, flat pedals, bottle cages, rear track, puncture repair kits, pump, spare tube, tyre levers, multi tool, lock and key, and 0800 on-road service. There are also some great optional extras including flashing lights, bike computer, panniers, front handle bar bag, and rear rack.

As a special introductory offer, Britz is giving the first 50 bookings of Britz Bikes a free Lonely Planet Cycling New Zealand book to kick-start their holiday adventure.
