Bestselling U.S. author, Lauren Kate is about to set hearts racing at the Dunedin City Library when she talks about her latest release, Passion; the third part to her Fallen series, on Tuesday 9 August at Dunedin City Library.

The Fallen series follows Lucinda, a high school student who finds her soul-mate in Daniel, a fallen angel. The forces of good and evil have conspired over the centuries to keep them apart, and through the books, Fallen, Torment and now Passion; the doomed lovers are forced to fight the tragedy of their past lives, for a destiny together.

The storyline is reminiscent of the Twilight saga and, although it might be free of vampires or werewolves, it still bristles with aspects of the supernatural, and will appeal to a similar audience of female readers.

Fans who hang on Lauren Kate’s every word have already booked their seats, and are travelling from as far as Christchurch and Invercargill to get a glimpse of their favourite writer. Kate will talk about her latest release, her inspirations and the future of the fated couple, for whom she is currently working on the fourth and final part of the tale, Rapture.

Audience members will also get the chance to ask the young author questions before buying her books, or getting much-read older copies signed.

The talk is expected to sell-out, and people are encouraged to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
