Philips launches new range of electric shavers for faster smoother shaves

Philips is pleased to announce the launch of two new electric shaver ranges: The PowerTouch, with a 100 per cent washable design for convenience, and the AquaTouch, which can be used wet with foam or gel for a smoother, more comfortable shave without sacrificing the ritual of a wet shave.
The launch of the new shavers is part of Philips’ male shaving & grooming Express Yourself Every Day campaign, which recognises and celebrates the trend towards men seizing opportunities for self-expression.
Brand ambassador for Philips electric shavers and high profile sportsman, Dan Carter, shows people another side of himself as part of his involvement in the Philips Express Yourself Every Day campaign. As someone with a demanding schedule, he appreciates the convenience of the new shavers.
“When you’ve got lots of other priorities and demands on your time, there’s lots of benefit in the speed and convenience of Philips’ new generation electric shavers,” says Dan Carter.
The new AquaTouch and PowerTouch shavers use Philips’ latest technology, resulting in a fast, convenient and skin-friendly close shave.
“Many men have tried an electric shaver once years ago and perhaps don’t appreciate how the technology has improved to deliver a comfortable smoother shave,” says Nick Perry, Manager of Business Development for New Zealand at Philips Consumer Lifestyle.
The new Philips AquaTouch is fully waterproof and optimised for use with shaving gel or foam providing enhanced comfort and reducing damage to skin. The Philips AquaTouch also includes features that deliver a precise controlled shave, such as ultra-thin heads to shave longer hairs as well as the shortest stubble.
For a simple and effective daily shave Philips have also released the PowerTouch range. The 100 percent washable shaver can be rinsed under a running tap, allowing for quick and easy cleaning, while the cord or cordless versatility and long-lasting Lithium ION battery means Power Touch shavers give greater flexibility to busy men. The new range uses a special dual blade system that helps to lift hairs away from the skin before cutting them below skin level, ensuring a comfortably close shave every time.
“The AquaTouch and PowerTouch shavers address the needs of today’s modern men who pride themselves on looking good and who want a close shave without the skin irritation that blade shaving can cause,” says Mr Perry.
The AquaTouch and PowerTouch ranges are available from 1 August 2011 at all leading retailers.
The Philips AquaTouch range consists of two models: AquaTouch (AT750) and AquaTouch Plus (AT890). The Philips AquaTouch retails at $159.95 and the Philips AquaTouch Plus retails at $299.95.
The Philips PowerTouch range consists of five models, with pricing ranging from $99.95 to $399.95 (product details in attached appendix).
